    Roof holding-down straps should be 30mm x 2.5mm in cross-section and at least 1 metre long

    Roof holding-down straps should be 30mm x 2.5mm in cross-section and at least 1 metre long. They must be pre-drilled for fixings, which typically consist of a minimum of four hardened nails (4mm diameter x 75mm long) or No. 12 wood screws (50mm long) into plugs where fixing to masonry. The lowest fixing must be within 150mm of the strap's bottom.
